Lost World of Tambun and Xtreme Park

In my previous post, I mentioned that I went for a family holiday in Penang. Before reaching Penang, we stopped by Ipoh to visit my father in law. It was his birthday. He was surprised and happy as the whole family was there.

After that we went to Lost World of Tambun. We wanted to go in but in the end decided not to. There isn't much to see there, it is a waterpark and you can get it here at Sunway Lagoon. But I managed to take some pictures of the place.

Then we stopped by the Xtreme Park next to it. We went for the Go-Kart for 10 laps. It was fun. Of course for me, I was slow and steady. It was not very comfortable for me as I am short and the steering wheel was very far from the seat. I guess that is what it takes to be short. LOL.

After Go-Kart, my hubby and brother-in-law decided to try out ATV. I have to say I was tempted but scared at the same time. My first experience with ATV was not a good one. I will share with you my experience in my next post. So...I decided not to go. But my sister-in-law and I were worried at first. My hubby and bro-in-law are speed demons. They love to race especially with each other. You put the 2 of them together with a machine be it a car or bike, things will go wrong. But thank god our worry was a waste. The ATV track was sad. I mean really sad. Let's just say even a 10 year old kid can go through it without a scratch. I was glad that I didn't join them. It was a waste of money and time. Hahaha... they should not call it the Xtreme Park. They should call it the Safe Park instead.

All in all, it was a fun trip. The Go-Kart was fun and it was also fun to tease my hubby and bro-in-law about their ATV ride. After that we continued our journey to Food Heaven, Penang.

Its been awhile

It has been awhile since I have updated my blog. A lot of things has happened to me these past few months and it has been crazy.

First, I have resigned from my current work place. In case you didn't know, I was working for a government agency. I like a lot of people have this bad perception on government agencies. Gomen mah. But the one that I used to work in is so different from the typical gomen agency. Why I resign you might ask. Well, I resigned because I couldn't stand my boss. I have to say that he is the worst boss that I have ever had. Also a few other reasons. Anyways, my last day was last Wednesday. I feel sad and happy at the same time. Sad because I am leaving my colleagues who are nice and caring people. Happy because I am moving on to another place with better career growth and better pay. I will be starting my new job next Wednesday. It is fast but at least I have a few days of rest before I start work.

Last Thursday, I went for a family holiday with my husband and his family to Penang. It was really fun. The goal of the trip is to eat, eat and eat. Oh man did we eat!!! To the point where I got diarrhea. Although I was sick but I didn't regret. The trip was a satisfying trip. Ate all the food that I craved for.

In this trip I didn't take much picture probably because I was busy eating. Hahaha... Most of my shots are in the car. Check out my next blog coz I will be uploading the pics soon.

Well, that's it from me today folks. Catch you all later.

All business

It has been awhile since I have updated my blog. Well...I have been busy setting up an online bussiness. :D I have been thinking about setting up an online bussiness selling accessories for a very long time. Believe me, the thinking process was very loooong. First, I was afraid of rejection plus I need to be financially stable to be able to sustain the business. Selling is not easy especially when it comes to fashion. It is so competitive! You walk into a mall left right centre there are boutiques selling nice things which are cheap. Not only that, online selling is a big thing. Just google accesorries and there will be thousands of sites selling it online. Plus, you need to be up-to-date and know the market, to see what is in trend now.

Why accessories you might ask. I am crazy over accessories. So much so I think it could be an addiction. I will keep buying hairbands, earrings, necklace and hair clips eventhough I might not wear it. When I see a cute hair clip, my urge of buying it is sooo unbearable.

Finally, I have gathered up my courage and ordered a few pieces of nice headbands and accessories. Yes just a few pieces that I have ordered. I was thinking of playing it safe and also try it out first. Who knows it might succeed or it might not.

First, you have to think of a name. The name of my blog is Eve's Dresser. I figured, every girl has a dresser to store their make-ups and accessories. For me, I dont have a dresser persay, but I do have one particular space in my wardrobe where I store all my girlie stuff in.

So finally I got my site up and walla...I made sales on the same day I posted my blog up on to my Facebook. Of course, my first customer is my good friend Cathryn. Then later on, I made a few more sales and I am happy to say that as at today, I have sold all my headbands. Oh and I have 36 members in Eve's Dresser group on Facebook.

Since I have sold most of my accessories, I have decided to restock and also expand it to bags. Last Saturday, my sister and I went to look for stocks. Again, not the risk taker, I bought 5 designs only. After that I went home and took some photos of the bags (with the help of my elder bro who is a pro in product shoot) and posted it up onto my blog and Facebook page.

Online selling is tricky. I am still very new to blogging and am not sure how to do it. The most that I can think of is promoting it through FB, which works for me so far. Posting pictures of the products up on my blog is not enough. How do I attract people to come to my blog and look at my products? Right now, what I could think of is to keep reposting my products and also come up with some sort of theme or concept for each bag/accessories. Here are some of the "theme" if you like, that I have created which I post on my blog and Facebook. You can also check more of the items out at http://www.evesdresser.blogspot.com/.

Gadgets, gadgets, gadgets

This month is gadget month. First, I changed my Blackberry to Iphone. No, not the Iphone 4 but the 3Gs. Why did I change it? Well, I was using Iphone (2G) before this. Then I decided to change to BB but regretted it. Iphone has got more functions. Although I might not use all the apps that is available but what I enjoy the most is the photography. I can take pictures with the phone and then touch up the pics on photoshop. Then I go to Frame Wiz and put nice frames to the touched up pictures. It is fun!!! I cant do that with my BB. This is one of the samples.

Why did I say this month is a gadget month? My sis, Niki finally bought her new gadget. No, not the dog but an Imac. Oooohhh.. I am soooo jealous. :D.

Then yesterday me and Niki went birthday present shopping and bought my elder bro, Casey an Addidas watch. What is great about the watch is it has stopwatch function which is what my bro needed for his muay thai class.

All pictures were taken from my Iphone and the frames are from Frame Wiz apps.

Girls Just Want To Have Fun

My sis, Niki is into handmade a dolls and she has created 4 beautiful dolls. You can check the dolls out in one of my postings 'Handmade Dolls'. Oh and my sister sells the dolls too!

Today it is about Fiesty Brenda, a younger sister to one of the rocker chick doll named Brenda. Unlike the sister Brenda, Fiesty Brenda is a fashionista. Since she is all about fashion, my sis and I decided to bring her window shopping in non other than Pavillion and Starhill where you can find all stylish fashion designer brands there. This is Fiesty Brenda's first shopping trip and she had a blast.

Girls love window shopping, it makes us happy although we might not be able to afford the Gucci bag or Fendi shoes, but by looking at it, it puts a smile on our face.

Family Trip To Melaka 2010

When I was a kid, me and my family always travelled to Singapore and Thailand. I still remember when we travelled to Thailand, it was always by bus. The bus ride is always late at night. We will sleep in the bus and when the bus stop for toilet break, my mom will wake us up in the middle of the night to use the toilet. After that we will stop by the burger stall to buy burgers. I miss those days.

Now we are all grown up, living our own lives. It has been ages since we went on a family trip.

One day, my sis and I decided to travel down to Melaka to take pictures, since it was a long weekend. So we decided to make this our family trip and asked everyone if they wanted to come along. Everyone agreed. I was so excited because this time round, we have an additional family member, my hubby. :D

When I was in Melaka, I was amazed. There were so many people with DSLRs. Almost everyone has one. Melaka has a lot of nice old architectures. It is a place that photographers would love to take pictures of. Me and my sis were happily snapping away. Even though the weather was extremely hot on that day. But we didn't mind. What surprised me the most was my younger bro, who cant stand heat, didn't complain at all. I am proud of him.

When we reached Melaka, we stopped by Tzu Chi, Melaka. My mom really wanted to visit that place. When we were there, I noticed that my parents were enjoying themselves, especially my dad.

Then we went to the famous, Jonker Street. It was a shame that we couldn't eat in Nancy's Restaurant. I miss the belacan there. Instead, we had chicken rice which does not taste good at all. Thank god for the yummy cendol, that made my hubby happier.

It is important to me to spend time with my family. I only see them once a week. So to me, this trip was important and I appreciate every moment we had in Melaka.
