Tattoos and Memory

Most of my tattoos were done when I was studying in Melbourne. The tattoo parlor that I went was near Victoria Market.

I still remember the first time I went to get my tattoo done, I was soooo afraid of the pain that I almost chicken out. My housemate was with me and the poor girl had to walk around Vic Market with me for an hour before I sum up my courage to go for my tattoo. Oooh... and of course I remember the tattoo artist. He was cute!!!

So my first tattoo is a tribal butterfly. Yes...corny as it sounds. Butterfly to me it symbolizes freedom. When I was young, my mom controls my every movement. The only time I really feel free was when I was in Melbourne. I can do whatever I want without answering to anyone. You must be thinking why butterfly and not birds right? Well that's because I like butterflies. I find it amazing that from a caterpillar it can morph into a beautiful butterfly and finally free to fly wherever it wants. That's how I came about with my first tattoo.

The 2nd piece is another tribal design. This has no meaning actually. I was just addicted to the pain. I know I sound like a mad woman who is into pain.

My 3rd piece is a rose piercing through the heart. This has 2 meaning, one is because I had to leave Melbourne for good. Second is I have to leave this friend of mine which I was having a crush on. :(

Yesterday was the day where I got myself inked for the 4th time. This is in memory of my cat who passed away when she was only 6 months old. Her name is Tiger. Although she is gone to a better place but she will not be forgotten.

Alvin the tattoo artist did a very good job in this piece. I am so glad that I did it with him. LOVE IT!!! It took 4 hours to do this piece and it is the most painful tattoo that I have done. But its worth the price and pain. Here are some of the pics that I took.

My furry children

So after Tiger left us. We went to adopt another cat. No...it is not to replace Tiger. No cats can replace her. Tiger is one of a kind.

We wanted Bat to have a friend. Bat was sad that Tiger left and he felt lonely. We can see it because we printed out Tiger's picture and framed it up. Bat always look at it and meow. Plus we noticed that he always try to find ways to go out. So me and my hubby went to SPCA to adopt another friend for Bat.

Her name is Goldie. She is very manja. When we were in SPCA, we were looking around and when we reached the cage where she was in. She immediately jumped and ran towards us. Every time we walk away and walk back to the cage, she will come to us. So adorable we couldnt say no. She blended well with Bat.

I think adopting cats is like an addiction. After adopting Goldie, we went to Paws and adopted another cat, Angel. At the same time, I fell in love with this Maine Coon mixed Persian cat which is on sale in the pet store that we always go to. We eventually bought the Maine Coon mixed and name him, Simba.

Let me introduce you to my furry children.

So here are my cute little furry ones. I can honestly say that I don't regret getting them. They are so adorable in their own way. Every morning I will have four cats sitting in front of my door room to greet me. Its such a joy to see.

Of course I will not forget Tiger. Once in a while I will look at her pictures. It makes me miss her so much. So I have decided to get a tattoo of her on me. Tomorrow she will be with me for the rest of my life. Will upload pics once its done.

In Memory of Tiger...You will always be remembered and loved

When I saw my last post, I almost wanted to cry. Princess Tiger....she has left us for a better and more peaceful place. She was hit by a deadly virus known as Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). Her stomach was bloated. Initially we thought she was pregnant. But after awhile, I felt something is wrong. She was not as active as before, her stomach is getting bigger and she is loosing weight. I mean when you are pregnant you should be eating a lot but she doesn't.

One day I woke up and found her very weak. She could hardly walk and was shivering. My hubby brought her to the vet and we found out that she was hit by the deadly virus. her stomach was bloated with some liquid. The liquid covered her stomach and kidney. Her internal organs were not functioning well. Even if we pump all the liquid out it wont help because she will not be eating.

It is sad. I mean why of all cats must she get it. The vet told us that there is no cure for it and there is no other choice.

We have to let her go.

Tiger, you will always be remembered. The cute, feisty and manja princess which we will love forever. Mommy luv you forever.

In memory of Tiger, I will be doing a piece of her picture on me. Will upload it once it is done.

Princess Tiger

My hubby wanted Bat to have a companion. Cats live longer and healthier with another companion. I was initially not keen. I mean one cat is enough. The cleaning my god. But deep down inside me I don't want to share Bat. Hehe...Yes I might sound selfish or insane. Bat is tooo adorable!!!

So after much persuasion, me n my hubby went to SPCA. We went in the morning to look at kittens. None of the kittens connect with us. They are all cute but just doesn't have that connection. So we went back to PJ to grab a bite. Not satisfied my hubby drove back to SPCA again. When we were there this Indian family came in with a beautiful kitten. Apparently they found this kitten and wanted to keep her. But their existing cat is too territorial. So they have no choice but to leave the poor kitten there. The lady Rose who works in SPCA took the kitten and put it in the cage. In swift second I went to the cage and took the kitten out.

The moment I put her in my arms and looked into her eyes. I fell in love instantly. Her fur is soft and nice. Beautiful green eyes and her face is so sweet. Then I handed her to my hubby and he fell in love with her. Without second thoughts we adopted her.

Let me introduce you to Tiger.

It has been awhile

Just checked that my last post was in December 2010! It has been ages. I have been busy with work and also with my 2 cats. Yes I have cats. Never knew I would be a cat person.

It all started with my hubby's brother, he adopted a cat from SPCA. Then his gf bought a Persian cat. My hubby thought it would be a good idea to have a pet too. Initially I was kinda reluctant because I'm a dog person. Never in my life would I think of having cats as pets. Never really like cats. What made me change my mind was when I played with my hubby's bro's gf's cat. Her cat is sooo adorable. Then I thought ok it would not be a bad idea after all. So we went to SPCA and Paws to look for a cat. We both want an active and playful cat. Not the type that just sit around all day. Did some research and found out that Siamese cat is a dog like cat. They are playful and smart. Some adult Siamese cats even knows how to open doors! One bad thing about Siamese cats is that they are very vocal. They will meow until they get what they want. Persian cats are quite slow and not as playful in comparative.

So we have decided on the breed. Next is our mission to look for a Siamese cat to adopt. Unfortunately both SPCA and Paws do not have any Siamese. So I went on to petfinders to look for. I stumbled upon this beautiful Siamese mixed kitten. It caught my eye. Me being the kiasu person quickly called and fixed an appointment on the same day to adopt the cat.

And then there is Bat....

Bat was a tiny fella when we brought him home. Scared, skinny and hungry. He is very vocal. He meowed the whole night on the first night. Thank god it only took him one night to get used to us. He is very active and playful. A very naughty cat indeed. I personally feel he thinks he is a dog. He always sticks his tongue out, chase his own tail and he likes to lick. Love him very much. He has grown into a very good looking cat now. :) Here are some of Bat's pic when he was young and some of him now.

In my next post, it would be on our adventure in looking for the 2nd cat.

Cameron Highland - Second Day Afternoon

After the scary drive down from BOH plantation, we stopped by Butterfly Farm. Most of the farms are free admission. But Butterfly Farm is not. The entrance fee for adult is RM5. The farm is quite small compared to the one in KL and there are not much to see. If you ask me its not worth paying 5 bucks to go in. But I did manage to snap a few pics.

Then we head on to Cactus Valley. I have not seen so many cactus in my life. All sorts of cactus. Big, small and funky looking ones. While I was taking picture, I was trying hard not to knock into some of the cactus. I know how painful it would be when you accidentally touched one.

After Cactus Valley, we stopped by Big Red Strawberry Farm. This place is huge compared to the one I went on my first day. What's good about this is you can pluck your own strawberry. Of course it is not free. For 25 gram it costs RM6 and 1 kg is RM12. We choose the 25 gram. It is fun plucking your own strawberry. We went around the farm and managed to pluck big red strawberries. It feels like we were in Amazing Race hunting for big red strawberries as fast as we can. Unfortunately, the strawberries that we plucked are not sweet. The ones that I bought for my family is sweeter.

Outside the Strawberry Farm, they sell cactus as well. The weird thing is that I have been thinking about getting some cactus when I was at the Cactus Farm. But didn't get it there. I actually bought 8 small cactus together with 2 stands in Strawberry Farm. Haha..

After all the scary driving up and down the hill and plucking strawberries. We went to our hotel. Remember in my previous post I mentioned that I booked a hotel room in 2 different hotels? On the second day we stayed at Casa Dela Rosa. The room that we had is small but I like the look of the hotel. Very cottage like. Not to mention that their breakfast is actually quite good compared to Century Pines.

I really enjoyed my stay in Cameron Highland. If you love strawberries and vegetables its a good place to go. I ate so much salad there. The vegetables are so fresh! And I love the weather. The only time that I sweat was plucking strawberries. Other than that, the weather is nice and breezy. I wouldn't mind going there again. My hubby agrees with me on that as well.
